Drivers in Florida now have a chance to take advantage of a new program offered by Progressive Insurance that could save them up to 30 percent on their coverage in 30 days. The company issued a press release on Monday announcing it would be offering Snapshot to allow Florida drivers the opportunity to pay less based on their driving habits.

Allstate Insurance Co., along with two related insurance companies, have agreed to stop selling their Your Choice policies. These auto insurance policies, which were provided to a number of California customers, offered the popular “accident forgiveness” feature.

State Farm has launched a six-month campaign aimed at young, inexperienced drivers that teaches the rules of auto insurance within a Facebook game.Car Town, an already popular game on Facebook, is now offering embedded ads sponsored by State Farm that teach the rules of both the road and auto insurance.

Auto insurer Progressive has received the title for the highest-rated insurance website, according to the Keynote Competitive Research’s Q4 2010 Insurance Carrier Scorecard. The company has now received recognition for being the best insurance website on 16 of the last 17 Keynote Scorecards published since 2000.

The auto insurance claims process proves to be less satisfying in 2010 than the year prior, according to a new study from J.D. Power and Associates. Satisfaction declined five points on a 1,000-point scale to 837, but still saw a 19-point jump from the figures returned in 2008.
