If you are leasing a car, then you’re in a special position where you will ultimately have to give the car back to the dealer (or buy it from them, or sell it off). This means that you are seriously invested in the safety of the automobile, perhaps even more so than if you were just paying off a bank loan for the car. So, it’s imperative to have high-quality auto insurance if you’re driving a leased car.

If you use any type of vehicle to assist in your day-to-day business operations, you need to purchase business auto insurance. Coverage with a business auto insurance policy can help protect your assets if one of your vehicles is involved in an accident.
Like general auto insurance, your local state will determine the laws for the type of business auto insurance you need to purchase. By not obeying local laws, you risk not only being charged fines by the governing authorities but will also be subject to lawsuits. If your business requires that your employees are on the road operating a vehicle owned by your business, you will need to purchase business auto insurance. Most states require business auto insurance.

Auto insurance laws and whether the vehicle is for business purposes or not, is determined by the state. It is important for small business owners seeking auto insurance to fully educated themselves on what the state minimums for small business auto insurance are, and then acquire enough coverage to protect all assets involved in the business.

In this economy, it is important to protect your personal and business assets, especially if you are a small business owner. Small business auto insurance can make sure that the cars, trucks, and vans used by your employees for business purposes are covered in the event of an accident. The coverage can apply to company owned vehicles, leased vehicles and the transportation owned by your employees but used for your business.

Gap coverage is a special kind of auto insurance, mostly for people who are saddled with large balances on their auto loans – people who have put very little down in terms of a deposit, and are slowly but surely paying off the vast majority of the price of the car. Gap coverage ensures that should the owner of the car get into a situation where theyre paying more for the car than it is worth a situation called “being upside down” on your loan the loan will be forgiven.

Comprehensive insurance coverage is an aspect of car insurance that will pay for damages done to your vehicle by events different from a collision with another vehicle. For example, lets say youre driving your car during a rainstorm, and you skid out and hit a brick wall, crushing the front of your car. Another driver is not responsible for the hundreds and maybe even thousands of dollars it will cost to fix your car, so the damage has to be covered by you. Thats why people get comprehensive auto insurance vs only liability insurance, because your insurance company will now be obligated to pay for the repairs (minus your deductible). You pay for this coverage in the form of a higher monthly premium, of course, but you will be glad to know youre covered when unexpected things like this happen.

Total loss coverage is a term used in the auto insurance industry to describe an insured car which has suffered irreparable damage. Lets say youre driving down a slick road late one summer night, and its pouring rain outside. And then the worst possible thing happens: you lose control of the car due to hydroplaning and smash into a brick wall. The air bags deploy, and youre ok, but the car is totaled.

When youre out driving on the busy roads and streets of your town, you may want to give your fellow drivers the benefit of the doubt and assume that they are as properly and effectively insured as you are. After all, its the right thing to do, right? But the truth is, there are many uninsured or underinsured motorists out there, and if you were to get into an accident with one you could end up getting into major financial trouble for years to come. Experts agree that the number of uninsured motorists might be as high as 25% in some states.
