It is very unfortunate for those who are working for AIG for free and in the end get most of their bonuses taken away.

I will never support AIG again for as long as I live. They will not get a cent of my business. They are a company that cannot run itself, and there is no way they will be able to repay taxpayers what they borrowed. The sooner we let it go to bankruptcy and restructure, the better.

This is a thoughtful article. I have friends who work for AIG, and it is indeed true that the upper management who destroyed the company and received millions in executive bonuses have largely left. What you have left is a group of honest, hardworking people who are being paid next to nothing. Public anger is definitely misplaced without the facts, and not all issues are as black and white as they seem. "At least you have a job" doesn't work here, because many of the management guys are being paid $1 per year.

I would take the more ethical company. Yet...money is hard to come by and if the government is saving them, then to some extent, they're a safe company. The government would save any company if it could get something back. What is the true M.O. of the government??

It frustrates me how the media likes to twist things. As much as I like to support companies that maintain high ethical standards, if the rate is right I'd take it.
