Auto insurer Geico is warning vehicle owners about the latest trend in vehicle theft: Catalytic converters. According to the company, it is becoming more common for thieves to steal this part from a vehicle because it is made of precious metal that is valuable on the black market.

The auto insurance claims process proves to be less satisfying in 2010 than the year prior, according to a new study from J.D. Power and Associates. Satisfaction declined five points on a 1,000-point scale to 837, but still saw a 19-point jump from the figures returned in 2008.

Geico will team up with Safe Kids Tucson to provide parents a great incentive to take car seat safety classes. Parents who signed up and completed a course were eligible to receive a free child safety seat as an incentive to keep their children safe when driving. The seats were even given by the age and weight of the child, and several hundred will be provided in total to parents who are in need of them.
