This southern state has the perfect storm of unhealthy scenarios, thus earning the Hospitality State the honor of being the sickest state.
Nearly 38 percent of the state’s population is obese and annually $925 million dollars is spent on their care.
The state also scores low marks, as nearly 1 out of 3 residents do not have health insurance, meaning that their obesity and related health conditions are left untreated.
