The Nation’s Top Five Sickest States: Oklahoma

2. Oklahoma

The OK state is not living up to its name.

Obesity (30.0 percent of the population costs the state $1,069 million annually) combined with a high percentage of smokers (24.7 percent) helped this state rank as the second sickest state in the nation.

Even though the uninsured rate dropped nearly three points from the 2008 rankings, there are still plenty walking health time bombs in town.
