If you live in Delta County, Colorado you may be able to take advantage of a AARP course that could offer you discounts on your auto insurance policy. The course is offered in January and could benefit many drivers ages 55 or older.

About the AARP Course

The course is called “55 Alive” and is an AARP driver’s safety course designed to update driving skills for those nearing retirement age. The hope is that those taking the course will be able to maintain their driving mobility now and for years to come.

Insurers Get Sued Over Chinese Drywall Issue

A number of homeowners are suing insurance companies over inadequate Chinese drywall claims.

The drywall issues, which were found nation-wide, resulted in corroded plumbing and sick home dwellers. While thousands of homeowners are known to have been affected by the defective drywall, so far over 700 homeowners have filed a federal lawsuit, seeking indemnification for their losses.

TexasSure, is a new database that matches drivers to their auto liability insurance policies in Texas, has been popular with law enforcement since 2008. Because of its accuracy, it has been able to match up to 99 percent of those vehicles tracked to their insurance policy owners. However, the one percent that has not been matched can expect letters to reach their homes soon to alert them that no insurance match was found for them – and to help the company improve its system.
