Triple A (AAA) Company History

If you own a car, chances are you’ve heard of the American Automobile Association, better known as AAA or triple A. Headquartered in Heathrow, FL, AAA is a not-for-profit auto service provider and auto insurance seller. They are best known for the roadside assistance program that they provide, however.

History of the American Auto Association

AAA was founded in 1902 in Chicago, IL, and now has 69 regional clubs that members can enjoy services from. The group was composed primarily of auto enthusiasts who later worked to commission maps, auto racing and even auto services. A member of one club could receive help from any of the other member clubs. In addition to its roadside assistance programs, AAA even offers discounts with various merchants.
